St. Peters in the community we serve
Scarlett Tallada, daughter of Tiffany and Kyle Tallada, is a small girl with a HUGE heart! The five-year-old attends St. Peter’s United Methodist Church in Saylorsburg with her grammy, Malinda Brodt. Upon hearing of the needs and poverty of other children worldwide, Scarlett decided to make it her personal undertaking to earn and collect funds to help finance the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child (OCC) mission at St. Peter’s. Through her collections at church ($1 per month per congregant), her ambitious chores, and her 50/50 fundraiser at a horseshow, Scarlett has raised enough money to purchase hygiene items, socks and small toys to pack in the OCC boxes! The recipients of the boxes, wherever they may be, will be blessed by her commitment and energy to brighten their lives with surprises and the necessities we take for granted. St. Peter’s also welcomes the support of the local community. Individuals, families, organizations, and local businesses who would like to participate through monetary donations, donated items, or other acts of generosity are warmly invited to join this effort. Every contribution, large or small, helps fill another shoebox with love, hope, and joy for a child in need.
Scarlett may be small, but her heart for giving is inspiring others to make a BIG difference, one shoebox at a time. St. Peter’s UMC is located at 924 Rt. 115 Saylorsburg. The mailing address is PO Box 323, Saylorsburg, PA 18353.
